It's written on the pavements

I probably shouldn't say this as an avid Fashion lover but when it is the time of year that the world is taken over by Fashion week I get a little frustrated by how people in the industry are presented/present themselves.  Fashion on all levels is one of the most vain industries to work in, but fashion week to me seems to highlight all of the negatives about our true love.  Every year the same things happen; - Someone high up will dramatically quit their job i.e. someone usually from net-a-porter or Vogue - A petition to ban skinny models will start - Kate Moss and Sienna Miller will start hanging out again - A celebrity will mess up their collection and ruin themselves - One weird and wonderful trend will arise. Don't get me wrong I love Fashion Week, I love the new clothes, the new models launching into the limelight, the mistakes and the collection winners. But my favourite part of Fashion Week is the street style.  Yes everyone has seen the ...

Bijoux Bazaar

Image
So we have just started our new Business Entrepreneurship module in uni and have had the lovely Lucy Smith coming in to do a talk about her new business Bijoux Bazaar. As a Fashion Promotion graduate from good old Glamorgan, Lucy has done some AMAZING internships (including my dream one at Asos Magazine) Now she has embarked on creating her own online jewellery store. Bijoux Bazaar features jewellery sourced from around the world that is perfect for the fashionable girl that loves to look good but can't necessarily afford the diamonds and glitz that graces the high end magazines.  After looking for the perfect pieces Lucy has sourced a collection of gorgeous pieces with price ranges perfect for the 'Vogue girl'. It is easy to back this up as some of the most idolised and loved fashion magazines have featured her products in their magazines. Have a peak at some of the pieces -  £22 £26 My favourite piece at the moment is only £12 *swoon* Unlike ...

Cats on the catwalk

Image
Ok so when the 'FROW' of Fashion week are laughing or smiling when the models walk down the catwalk, you can't help but feel a little bit on edge...are they laughing at an inside joke like Harry and Sienna or are they laughing at the designs that a nervous creator has worked months on for this moment? Well today (in fact about ten minutes ago) I sat down in front of  my laptop, not actually at Fashion week to watch the Fashion East show. The catwalk was filled with some of the prettiest models I have seen this week, with their faces painted like cats and dogs. With the opening looks show casing stunning white and cream designs with appliquĂŠ florals and cute jackets the show was possibly the most adorable show of the week. The later designs in the show were highlighted with lace covered converse and bright pink combinations making outfits that Katy Perry would be proud of! This show was the icing on the cake to the final day of Fashion week, a combin...

Love the look.

Missguided must haves

Image
Now Missguided always manage to keep up with the good high street trends and they still do not disappoint this season. On top of their usual lovely clothes, it has been the newly stocked coats and jackets that have really caught my eye this time around. I tend to be a bit boring when it comes to coats, I have the obvious leather jacket, a fur coat, a parka and a mac, with the odd blazer and box jacket thrown in that I normally forget I own. But I do tend to go for the staple coats (the ones that I would still wear three years down the line) I don't know if that's because I'm just a bit fussy or because I have never paid under £75 for a coat. I know it sounds silly but when I think about it I always assume that coats are the investment piece of your season.  HOWEVER stop the music because with missguided  I have been proven well and truly wrong! I have fallen head over heels with all of their new season jackets! (I have to wait to go home to order anything because I li...
