Turning the Paige on new brands

Image
As the seasons change we see a lot of new brands emerging whether it is independent companies launching on their own or our favourite retailers such as ASOS picking the freshest new designers to showcase. Autumn/Winter is by far my favourite season. I mean it is the season where you can get away with only shaving your ankles and fake tanning your arms and hands but the main reason is that I love layers!  Layers and jackets. The key things that make up a great Winter wardrobe. So as I was trawling through ASOS the other day I was more than happy to come across a new London based brand Willow and Paige. Not only do they have the combination of words in their brand description that make me swoon but they create some of the most beautiful and girl knitwear and pieces that perfectly capture a girl who wants to standout without feeling....well stupid really. "It's the most ...... time of the year"

Ok so Christmas is round the corner. Therefore the emotional rollercoaster of the festive season is upon us? Why an emotional rollercoaster I hear you ask? WELL. Our whole year runs up to Christmas, we start in January by thinking...at least I have pretty much 12 months to save for Christmas because last year wiped me out! (Of course by the time January Sales hit we are all majorly poor again anyway) but hey its the thought that counts! Now I love Christmas, I am a die hard lover of opening presents, people seem to find it odd but I actually enjoy the physical opening not necessarily the gift inside, weird I know but thats what I also blame my ridiculous addiction to ASOS on so.... The only issue I have with Christmas is that it just appears! One minute people are stressing about Halloween costumes then the next morning you wake up and your street is filled with multicoloured light and people are in work demanding gift recipes and gift wrapping (gift wrapping by the wa...

ASOS made Fresh

Image
So although I may not be a student any more, I appreciate that many freshers this year (as well as all other years) will be looking forward to loan day. I also know that when you start uni you hit a major identity crisis. When hitting this wall whats a girl to do? Well...you could go through one of those weird phases that you see people having where they dress up as a cat for a week or shave their head. OR you could head over to one of my favourite websites and shop until you create a whole new you!! My way is best right? So here we go...let me introduce you to the wonderful world of ASOS and it's wonderful discounts. So I advise you now as a former Fashion student you WILL want to sign up to everything possible with ASOS get on Unidays, get on ASOS premier....EVERYTHING. It is also one of the very few places that you can get student discount on items from shops that don't actually do student discounts themselves aka River Island. So I have picked out my Freshers top...

As hot as the scotts

So today is worthy of a post as I have been over whelmed with the amount of people who have put their tights back on! Now I love summer and I am pretty sure I was meant to be a life guard (in Spain where they just seem to sunbathe all day) or even one of the hyper ladies that run around on the beach trying to sell pineapples? But I did give a little cheer today when I put my tights on. If you read my blog you know I am SO against body con, it is and always will be (in my opinion) the worst invention when it comes to fashion (after white linen trousers) so when the time comes to whip out the chunky knit jumpers and skinny jeans I LOVE it! This season two of my all time favourite trends are hitting the high street and catwalks. Leather and Tartan. Now leather is never going to go out of fashion as every girl should own a classic black leather jacket. But the tartan trend is taking over, with a hint of back to school and teamed with a peter pan collar they create the perfect look! ...

Be prepared for the rain!

Image
Hello guys! I am back! My hand in was out of the way today and we have finally created our own magazine for submission *cheers*. It has literally been the longest and most tiring three weeks of uni so far! I've also drank more coffee than Starbucks can physically produce! I have noticed however that this dark an dreary weather brings people down. We wake up and go to work/uni when it's dark and come home when it's dark....it's all a bit depressing! The rain lately has also been incredible, I never actually thought it could rain as much as it had been! Now I don't know about you but I am NEVER prepared for the rain! I know it will rain if I wear dolly shoes, if I wear my fur coat and if I have my Michael Kors bag, just because it would. I never have my umbrella and I can guarantee that I turn up at uni looking like a drowned rat. So I have made a little collection of things you need to have to be prepared for this wet, wet weather. Accessorize is one...

White Stuff - Nice stuff.

Image
So if you read my blog you will have read my post about my parents and how I love their style. My mum is a devoted White Stuff fan and actually my Dad is pretty into his White Stuff clothing too! So today when I walked past the shop window in Cardiff and saw their new adorable window I thought straight away that it is exactly how I want to dress when I get to the age that it suits. Although the models they use in their campaigns are young and stylish I personally think that White Stuff itself is more suited to women in their 40's - 60's. Women who want to be stylish and different to others on the high-street head towards White Stuff for their wardrobes. The new catalogue came through the front door the other day and my mum nearly had a heart attack, the new look book is stunning and perfectly White Stuff. I want my mum to get this for work. How nice is the combination of the shirt under the dress. That is one thing that I really admire about White Stu...

This is a mans world

Image
Hi guys, so I realised lately that not a lot of fashion blogs take into account the poor guys out there, lost in fashion world. It's easy enough for us girls to log onto each other blogs or instagrams or simply chat about what we should wear. But what about the guys? Now I have a lot of male friends but don;t ever go clothes shopping with them, purely because men and shopping never mix well in my eyes. It's been years since I've had a boyfriend and if I take my dad shopping I end up suggesting clothes that I think would work on a 22 year old not a 50 year old. So I have decided to give the confused style guys of the world some tips. Many may think girls don't know how to dress guys but believe me, I spend equally as much time looking at men's style as I do women's. There is something about men's style that interests me. Designers such as Stella McCartney focus on using male tailoring in her designs creating some of the most beautiful blazers and jackets...
