Things that should have stayed on Pinterest

Image
Everybody loves Pinterest, especially creatives. We can search for inspiration for everything from food to how to decorate our homes. But lets face it, there are some things that should be seen on Pinterest and Pinterest only. 1. Glitter Roots. I meanI'm not sure I'm even ok with these on any level but from Pinterest.... to Miley bloody Cyrus. If we're being honest, its like unicorn dandruff and not in the cute "I love unicorns" way. 2. Milkshakes.  There is this sudden trend of fitting every desert into a glass and liquidising it. Now don't get me wrong if I had my way a three course meal would consist of three deserts but I do want to live past the age of 30 and just looking at some of them give me chest pain. THERE IS A SLICE OF CAKE IN IT! 3. Contouring. I'm laughing as I write this because I have just found the most ridiculous picture of a contoured face. My main question about contouring is who has THAT much time to...

With smokey eyes, finding the right balance of colour and darkness is difficult. I always tend to use browns to create my smokey eyes with a combination of light to dark moving out of my eye. However on a night out last week I decided to go for black eye shadows and eye liner to create my desired look. I was wearing a dark red shift dress from H&M that had a leather peter pan collar, I wanted to pick up on the black and create extra pow with my eye make up. So to create my look I used a combination of different eye shadows and eye liners. I had treated myself to some new  make up from  Feelunique  because it is a hell of a lot cheaper than buying it from any high street store. I will list below what I used so you can have a go at creating your own smokey eyes.  As an all over base I went for a natural colour from my rimmel eye shadow palette. Found here - http://tidd.ly/955cc942 go for one of the lighter shades to start with. I then built...

Colour yourself pretty!

Finally Louise Gray has launched her make up collection in Topshop. I remember when Topshop first released that they were going to start a make-up line, I was SO excited. I am such a Topshop worshiper, to the extreme where I sometimes feel quite embarrassed walking into the shop when I realise everything from my shoes to my under wear and even my lipstick is Topshop. But hey ho I don;t have a boyfriend so instead I choose to be in love with Topshop. I metaphorically wrap myself in love with chunky knits and leigh jeans. THAT is true love. So anyway, swoon over. Louise Gray is quite the funky monkey. She is known for her outrageous and colourful style and has not let the side down with her collection. reflecting her love and passion for colour, everything from the packaging to the products are bright and eye catching. The prices are also amazing! (Don't forget students we get an extra 10% off...sometimes 20%!) She has also designed a few items of the most breath takin...

No smoke without fire

My flat mate has arrived with the new copy of Glamour today. I have been sat flicking through it and saw the most beautiful version of smokey eyes that I have seen for a very long time. When smokey eyes first became popular everybody wore it in the same way. Now though things are changing. Looking at the world of celebrity, everybody is doing it! J-lo rocks the dark eyes creating her signature look. Leighton Meester uses brown instead of black to  create her smokey eyes. So the trend never dies and the stars keep soaking up the smoke! xoxo
