Golden Globes - Who shone the brightest?

Every fashion lover gets excited when the Golden Globes come round. Not particularly because we care who wins or loses but because we get to see some of the best and worst dresses! *Cheers* This year was a great year though, it is proving quite hard to pick looks that just didn't work. Maybe our blogging has caught up with the style of the celebs and they are starting to listen? But anyway here are some of the best looks from last nights GG's.

In my opinion Nicole Richie never goes far wrong with her style choices and her Naeem Khan design last night was stunning! (Also can you believe she's had babies!) The only thing that is slightly questionable is the matching eye shadow?

Amy Adams chose to go classic with Marchesa. I will always love any look that invloves Marchesa because the designs are so flawlessly feminine. Beautiful.

From Downton to Down right glam. Michelle Dockery wore one of my favorite gowns. Alexandre Vauthier created this simple, chic and classic gown for a woman that embodies just those qualities.

Thandie Newton looked as perfect as always in her embellished dress by Giles. It's always nice to see something a bit more flirty on the red carpet.

I will admit, if I saw this dress on the rail I'm not sure if I would go near it. But anything on Sienna Miller that reflects her inner 60's is always a hit. Personally I think if the dress was the same length as Thandie Newtons the look could have worked a little better.

Eva Longoria carried on the trend of the thigh high split by wearing her GORGEOUS black lace dress. If we were all so lucky to have the same olive skin I'm sure we would be rocking the thigh high too. This is another one of my top ranking gowns!

I can't believe that I first saw Ann Hathaway in Princess diaries! Being one of the only female celebs to confidently rock a pixie crop compliments this gorgeous Chanel dress perfectly. I love the contrast between her dark hair and white dress. Lovely!

Now even thought there were a lot of fashion hits, there were also some serious misses!

Kate Hudson in McQueen....well....has she just put that belt on in the limo? Without the middle detail this dress would have looked a million times more graceful and chic.

Marion Cotillard got tangoed. This colour is AWFUL and completely out of Dior's usual style. The matching shoes just make this even worse.
Halle Berry in Atelier Versace. The dress is something that I could imagine making a better maxi that you would wear to the beach, not on the red carpet. On top of that I really don't like the quiffed hair. Not as glamorous as Berry normally is!

So there are my personal picks of my best and worst. Just to point out that all of the guys attending the globes looked amazing. Oh how lucky they are to simply have to choose between which black bow tie to wear hey?

xoxo

  1. I think my favourite has to be Anne Hathaway - she looks unbelievably elegant. Simple, but very effective x
